How to paint Rangers of The North (and Dunedain)

 So I was going to paint Blue Boy's new Rangers of The North for Battle Companies, and after seeing that there was nothing good on the Internet, I thought to myself, Welp, somebody's got to post a tutorial for how to paint these guys! Well, that's me!

Basic

 So after undercoating the model like every single painter in the world tells you to do and paint the skin, hair, spears, and masks (Covid 19 - ha ha ha GW!👍😷)  move on with the tutorial for the model you plan to use and stick with it!😉

Dunedan

First the tunic is grey

And the boots and gloves are grey

Then paint the armor brown leather

Then the cloak and belt are green.

After that the sword sheath and quiver are dark grey

And the bow is brown

And finally, the sword (if unsheathed) is silver

Ranger of the North

So first the tunic is dark green

Then the boots, gloves, and belt are painted brown

After the boots, the armor is silver

Then the sword sheath, bow, and quiver are painted dark brown

Finally the sword (if unsheathed) is silver

Redoing Orcs...

So one day I was going through the old 2002 rulebook and noticed that how drab the Orcs looked compared to mine. :0

So I decided to repaint my own Orcs to look more like the Orcs in the book.

Here's how it turned out!

Painting Warriors of Minas Tirith!

Okaayy, it's been awhile, but I recently bought a Warriors of the Last Alliance (with a shipping mistake, instead I got Warriors of Minas Tirith) sprue from Ebay, and I haven't really had a post yet purely about painting.                         

This will be a series about painting and (hopefully) honing your painting skills

The model is a Warrior of Minas Tirith with shield.

Okay, start with an undercoat (as I said in my orc post, I use black).

Then, paint the skin flesh color.

Leave the cloth black.

Great! Paint the chain mail and plate armor silver.

Paint the sword silver and the handle brown and gold.

And finally, paint the White Tree of Gondor silver.

And we're done!

Now paint all the other men in the same way, to paint the Warriors with bows, paint the bows brown and the quivers brown and white.

for the spearmen, the spear is brown and the spearhead is silver.

Here's an amazing Man of Minas Tirith (that you painted).

Mordor Orc Converting and Painting!

 In this post I will teach you how to paint a Mordor orc, as well as an idea for your own conversions (possibly the first, if you're a new player). I will add pictures at every step of the way, which I hope will help with your own paint job and conversions.☺ 

So you'll need a hobby knife, green stuff, at least one (1) detail brush, two (2) standard brushes,a pot of water, a Mordor orc with sword upraised (see picture), superglue/plastic cement, some form of black paint (only needed if you use a black undercoat), brown paint, grey paint, silver paint, and green paint.

A model conversion is a way to make your own models unique by cutting/replacing/repainting pieces of the existing models. 

It's very simple once you get used to it, and some players actively convert every model in their collection so that all of the models are different.

Okay, so first cut both of the arms off at the shoulders, then glue them back in the positions shown in the picture below.

Then, apply green stuff to any gaps (see picture).

Now, let's start painting! Apply an undercoat (I use black, but it works just as well with other colors).

The next step is to paint the tunic brown (I use Testor, but other paints work just fine).

After this, paint the belt, gauntlets, hair, and boots grey.

Then paint the skin green.

Now paint the sword and armor silver.

And we're done!

Now you have your own converted Mordor Orc! Have fun playing the game! - the Rohan General.
