im back

i am back to this funny blog for the first time in over a year yippe
I blame real-life things getting in the way as well as my friends getting me into a multitude of different things like TF2 (scout mains unite!). All this to say that I will no longer be really active on this blog anymore as I have a job and other hobbies are getting in the way of sbg, I am running a Discord server as well as being the head of the moderation team of another somewhat large server, if anyone would like to join and say hello to me, I will post the links at the bottom of this post.

That being said, I did find time to work on some projects... I have to pain(t) nearly 250 miniatures, but I've put together some stuff here

I also found enough time to have a battle with Tie Die (aka my brother... :p) so here it is

The forces:

admama: Mordor
Warband 1: The Witch-King of Angmar - Hero of Legend
6 Warg Riders
2 Wild Wargs

Allied force: Goblin-town

Warband 1: Goblin captain - Hero of Fortitude
10 goblins

no I didn't bother with points total for this match; cry about it

Tie Die: Khazad-Dum

Warband 1: Gimli - Hero of Valor

4 Dwarf Warriors with shield

2 Dwarf Warriors with spear

3 Dwarf Warriors with Dwarf bow

Allied Force: The Fellowship

Warband 1: Gandalf

yes most of my guys are unpainted (I still have a lot of work to do)

Scenario: Capture and Control (the objectives are Aragorn, Gollum, a ranger of Gondor, an uruk hai with a banner, and an orc warrior with a shield)

Turn 1: Tie Die priority - we set up our guys as shown below

Turn 2: Tie Die priority - we moved men towards the objectives, archers taking pot-shots towards each other, to little effect...

Turn 3: Tie Die priority - I charged one of my Warg Riders into a dwarf; although he did not kill the dwarf, he distracted the man so that one of my archers shot into combat, hitting the poor fool in the throat.

Turn 4: Tie Die priority (again!?)

Tie die, and some of my guys rush to take objectives; in the end, he holds 3, and I hold 2; things are not looking good for Saurons 2nd in command.

Turn 5: Tie Die priority(how is this possible!?!) - Gandalf uses Sorcerous Blast to de-horse the Witch-King; elsewhere on the board, combat ensues.

wha-

Turn 6: admama priority (finally!) - I close in on the remaining Dwarves (+ Gandalf) while simultaneously sending a squad of Goblins to take an objective with the help of Heroic March.

An archer takes a shot at Gandalf, but misses.

Turn 7: Tie Die priority(...) - Tie die prepares to make his last stand around objective uruk hai; Gandalf is Wounded by a goblin but chooses not to Fate it; my goblins overpower the lone archer defending the ranger objective and take it.
Breaking news! a man gets his head bit off by a giant wolf!

Turn 8: admama priority - I manage to get a dehorsed Warg Rider and a goblin onto objective uruk-hai, neutralizing it; now all I need to do to win is to keep them alive until the game ends...
unfortunately the goblin is obscured by the uruks banner

Turn 9: Tie Die priority - he kills the goblin but fails to take out the orc, my forces are Broken, I roll a 1, and the game ends!

Final Score: admama - 4 for holding 2 out of 5 objectives, 1 for wounding Gandalf in the melee combat in turn 7.

Tie Die: 2 for holding 1 out of 5 objectives, 1 for Breaking my force

admama MVP: the orc who held point uruk-hai

Tie Die MVP: the Dwarf archer who single-handedly was responsible for over 50% of the Good kills

anyway that's all for now,

Auf Wiedersehn! - admama

Hold The Ford... Wait, what? (The Hobby Trailer Tournament Game, Part 2)

OK, after the first part, where Theoden was brutally slain with his men by a marauding fight 5 Uruk-hai captain with a two-handed axe, the Hordes of Isengard are ready for more blood (but this time, it's orc-flesh they're eating)

Welcome to The Hobby Trailer Tournament Game, Part 2.

This time we played a custom scenario called Hold the Ford. The game ends when one force is Broken. The Defender basically wins by keeping the Attacker's models from the ford in the center of the board, the Attacker wins by busting through to reach the ford.

Like it?

Turn 1

the Orcs became the Defender, with the Uruk-hai Leader and banner were alone, ready to be bombarded by 5 orc bows, while the rest of the Uruks and Orcs happened to be in charge range of each other.

This round was definitely going to hinge on who got priority that turn.

Aaaaaannnnnnndddddd...    the orcs got it!

The orcs proceeded to pummel the uruk-hai. (just kidding, neither side received any casualties, besides, who's ever heard of  orcs singlehandedly defeating Fight 4, Defence 6 Uruk-hai?)

Turn 2

Orc priority two-in-a-row!

the orcs with bows and two-handed weapons charged the

                                                                                                                isolated

Uruk-hai Leader and banner, and dealt 3 wounds to the Leader and 2 wounds to the banner, killing them instantly

(no wait, the Leader passed his Fate Roll. False Alarm.) Tie Die - Sigh.

Turn 3

the Uruks got priority and charged the orcs, slaying many, including the Orc Captain, and wounding Zagdush. Otherwise the turn was uneventful.

Turn 4

The Leader was surrounded by 8 Orcs, trapped, and slain.

Zagdush was also killed by the Uruk-hai with two-handed axe. (the Mordor force is out of Heroes)

Turn 5

Without Heroes, the Orcs crumbled quickly, and the Uruk-hai Broke them, leading to a sound victory in the hands of the Uruks...

Victory!

Not!!

the Uruks didn't have a single model in the ford, thereby handing the victory to the Orcs!

Final score - Mordor victory

Well, that was bloody, to say the least, but congratulations, Tie Die!👏

have fun playing the game!

Tournament Mode! (The Hobby Trailer Tournament Game, Part 1)

Welcome to The Hobby Trailer Tournament Game, Part 1.

Today Blue Boy and I decided to play the long-awaited battle report I've talked about so much ((LOL) you should listen to this, it fits so well with what happened)

the game was Hold Ground, a detailed description of the scenario can be found here.

Turn 1

The Rohirrim won Priority on the first turn and arrived as did the Uruk-hai phalanx (the Uruk-hai Leader and Banner Bearer were not so lucky), with Theoden rushing forward to protect the objective, ironically a Feral Uruk-hai (Blue Boy -  Strange objective for Rohan to fight over.)

and the royal Guard forming a thin red line around Theoden, while the rest of the riders formed a gun line for the shoot phase.  Although 1 uruk fell to the bows and spears of the Rohirrim, the tide turned against them, with the Uruks charging Theoden and his Guard (including THE BANNER!), and the ensuing combat saw 1 guard fall ( THE BANNER!)

Turn 2

mostly uneventful, --- EXCEPT FOR THE FACT THAT THEODEN SUFFERED A WOUND ON THE SECOND ROUND OF COMBAT! - gasp - The Rohan General

no casualties on the Isengard force, two casualties on the Royal Guard, the Leader hasn't arrived yet.

Turn 3

The Rohhirim, having safely protected the objective, proceeded to focus on breaking and killing the enemy leader and banner for the victory points, the Uruks were busy trying to cut down as many Rohhirim as they could ASAP apparently, with NUMERO UNO casualties on their side and FOUR CASUALTIES on the Rohhirim (Blue Boy - actually I was heading to the objective, those Riders just happened to be in the way)

Turn 4

In this turn the brave and courageous Theoden fell in the face of great danger, trapped and cut down by hooked Uruk scimitars, being dealt four wounds after forgetting that he had heroic strike...

Anyhow, the Rohhirim started to crumble after being broken the past turn by marauding... pikemen?

and as the uruks closed in, two failed their courage tests and fled, leaving the remaining Rohhirim quartered and the game drew to a close.

VICTORY POINT COUNT: ROHAN - 2 FOR GETTING AN EQUAL NUMBER OF TROOPS WITHIN 3" OF THE OBJECTIVE AS THE OPPONENT - TOTAL - 2

ISENGARD - 2 FOR GETTING AN EQUAL NUMBER OF TROOPS WITHIN 3" OF THE OBJECTIVE AS THE OPPONENT, 3 FOR KILLING THE ENEMY LEADER, 1 FOR HAVING A BANNER ALIVE, 1 FOR BREAKING THEIR OPPONENT - TOTAL - 7

Victor - Isengard major victory 2 - 7

well, that was a bloodbath, I don't think Rohan scored more than 2 casualties during the game,

so Isengard will be moving on to fight Mordor next time, but anyway, have fun gaming!
